Jacquelyn De Jesu (dee-jay-zoo)

Advocate and visionary. In the truest sense of the word(s).

Jacquelyn "Jackie" De Jesu Center Over her decade long career in Advertising at some of the world’s top agencies (Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, McCann Erickson, HUGE) the power and value of creativity in business was reinforced on a daily basis. This experience of deeply understanding and connecting with Intellectual Property (IP) and the role it plays in conscious consumerism and innovation more broadly became core to how Jackie saw the world, and how product design could be used as a catalyst for change.

Fast forward to 2015. In search of what didn't exist, Jackie launched SHHHOWERCAP . A game-changing, complete reimagination of the universally used and needed while previously detested, shower cap category. Before sales of any kind, she knew the value of herself and her innovation. She then leaned in with confidence and made the bold decision to file Provisional Design & Utility Patents on her new & novel idea. Good thing she did because FastCompany picked it up the day after the soft launch pre-order went live with a piece of press with a headline that said it all “Reinventing the Shower Cap for the Modern Woman” and that she did. She sold $15,000 in revenue in the first 10 days of the pre-order going live as a bootstrapped brand. It wasn’t just a million dollar idea. It was a multi-million dollar idea. Overnight.

Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Glamour, Forbes, A-List celebrities, radio DJ call outs, critical acclaim, TV appearances, major retailers as inbounds, popular influencers, and most importantly women of every age, color, walk of life agreed: a category redefined. A whitespace opportunity defined by her owned innovation.

And, then as most successful inventors do, she became a target.

Being a founder, inventor, patent holder of a cult-loved product, and CEO of a multi-million dollar business with such popular and valuable *assets* as a women in business under 30 years old — brought a unique series of opportunities and learnings. Opening her eyes to the systemic issues and power of her voice in the space.

SHHHOWERCAP was the catalyst. DEEJAYZOO is the movement.
